Poneglyphs are mysterious stone blocks with history inscribed on them in the form of strange letters. They are scattered among the islands in and outside of the Grand Line, and it is said the only person left in the world who can read them is Nico Robin.
Each one tells a piece of history long forgotten. This history includes mentions of (at least) three weapons of mass destruction: Pluton, Poseidon and Uranus. There are two types of poneglyphs: those that carry information about how to reach the other poneglyphs and those that carry the records of the "True History". Only when the stones are read as one will they fill in the Void Century of the world. In the eyes of the World Government, they are dangerous artifacts and despite declaring the stones dangerous because of the weapons, the reality is that the ideals of the fallen Kingdom written on some of the stones are far more dangerous then any of the weapons.
Doflamingo is afraid of the “Will of D”. Therefore, it is only logical that he will do anything to stop them from reaching their goal – obtaining One Piece.
It is necessary to follow the Poneglyphs to reach Raftel and the One Piece.
Now Doflamingo surely doesn’t want that to happen. What’s the best reason to stop them? To hide the Ponegllyph!
Pica can control stone and he is the best person for the plan of hiding the Poneglyph. And since Doflamingo is the king of Dressrosa, nobody will notice and question anything.
Pica ate the Ishi Ishi no Mi. He was seen emerging from a stone wall at the rampart tower B-1 of the Dressrosa royal palace, looking as if he were made of or covered in the stone itself, giving him a golem-like appearance. While in this form, he becomes nearly giant-sized. According to Viola, he is not merely a “stone man”, but instead a “stone assimilation man”, allowing him to absorb and manipulate all of the stone he makes contact with making him possible to hide the Poneglyph perfectly.
